If
Mark 9:21-23 21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” “From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” 23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
The word “if” is defined in the dictionary as a supposition or uncertain possibility but often times we find ourselves using the word, if when we are talking to God. Lord if you just do this one thing for me, Lord if it’s possible, Lord if you can help me, when we use the word, “if” when speaking to God we are asking God if He could possibly bless us in our time of need. God is never to busy to adhere to our needs and our prayers. When you ask God if He can do something for you, you doubt His power. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” As Christians we must have faith in what we ask God for. The devil’s job is to make you dwell on your doubt and ask God for a possible blessing rather than a pre-approved blessing. You want a blessing from God ask for it, James 1: 6-7 (NIV)But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
We must believe in the Lord. Matthew 21:22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” God wants us to come to Him with every problem because He is the problem solver. The dilemma most people have is that they ask the question, “but what if.” The devils purpose is to kill, steal and destroy and he does not play fair. The devil loves to kick you when you are down and attack when you are at your weakest. The devil plagues on your mind so that you will start to doubt the word of God. Submit yourselves to God and resist the devil. James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The more we resist the devil the weaker he becomes. The devil has no effect against those who are filled with the spirit of the Lord.
Talk to God and ask Him for favor, renewal of your mind and spirit, ask Him to remove mountains, heal your body, faith, courage, strength, to be humble and to remove the if’s from your mind and to replace them with words of reassurance. Have faith in God and believe that God has already given it to you, no ifs, ands or buts.
